Q. How do I change my user information?
A. Changing your user information is easy. You can change your information by simply going to LiveBoards.com and click on Edit Your User Profile. This will then take you to MyHli. There you will sign in with your username and password. Then make your choice in the member profile box. If you like you may also go directly to MyHli.com and make your changes. At the bottom of the page click on the proceed button to commit your changes.
Q. Can I change my password?
A.YES. Changing your password is easy. You can change your Password by simply going to LiveBoards.com and click on Edit Your User Profile. This will then take you to MyHli. There you will sign in with your username and password. Then make your choice in the member profile box. If you like you may also go directly to MyHli.com and make your change. You will notice that the current password does not show. If you are looking to change your password, Just type in your new password and then retype it once more. Then click proceed on the bottom of the page and your changes will take effect.
Q. What can I do if I forget my password?
A.If you have lost or forgotten your password you can contact us at LiveBoards.com by simply clicking on any mail link. You may also Mail us from here. In your email please inform us of your username. To make the process quick please include your security question and answer. We will send you a temporary password. Our security does not allow for us to retrieve your old password, due to encryptions and privacy standards. After receiving your new password, we recommend that you go to MyHli.com and type in a new password that you will find easy to remember. You will notice that the current password does not show. Just type in your new password and then retype it once more. Then click proceed on the bottom of the page and your changes will take effect.
Q. Can I insert pictures?
A.Simply stated Yes & No. This greatly depends on the type of board from LiveBoards you are using and/or are purchasing. We have many models. Our Custom designed boards will allow you to post and upload pictures. These models have the instructions (step by step) as you perform this operation. Other custom designs strictly forbid the posting of graphics, pending the design outlined by the customer ordering the board. In most cases with our standard boards, you can publish a picture. To place a picture in your post with our standard model is easy. However, you will have to do the following:
1) Make sure you have a picture already published on the web.
(You can place any picture in your message if it is currently on the web. This can be on your ser
ver, your favorite website, or anywhere your picture can be reached via the web 24/7)
2) Make sure you have the full path of your picture.
(What this means is rather simple. In many cases, people will on their local server just include
a name of the picture or folder path "mypicture.gif" or "/images/mypicture.jpg" This will NOT work you w
ill need the full path such as "http://www.DOMAINNAME.com/mypicture.gif" or "http://www.DOMAINNAME.com/images/m
ypicture.jpg" or whatever the path is.)
3) How to be sure you have the full path.
One of the easiest ways to get the full path of your picture is to view it in your browser. Once you see the pi
cture in your browser right click on that picture. You will then be prompted with a menu. Choose Properties. Th
en look where it will say address(url). All you will need to do is then copy that location. In some cases you m
ay also click on a picture and hold down the mouse button. While holding down the mouse button, push your mouse
up to the address usl location in your browser. Release the mouse and in many cases just the picure will now b
e displayed in your browser. Just hightlight and copy that address.
3) How to be sure you have the full path.
One of the easiest ways to get the full path of your picture is to view it in your browser. Once you see the pi
cture in your browser right click on that picture. You will then be prompted with a menu. Choose Properties. Th
en look where it will say address(url). All you will need to do is then copy that location. In some cases you m
ay also click on a picture and hold down the mouse button. While holding down the mouse button, push your mouse
up to the address url location in your browser. Release the mouse and in many cases just the picture will now
be displayed in your browser. Just highlight and copy that address.
4) Putting it all together.
Putting it all together is simply nothing more than basic html(HyperText Markup Language). To insert your pictu
re in your text you can copy the following code (highlight it with your mouse and right click copy) and then pa
ste it (right click paste) on your post. Be sure to place your picture address between the quotes where it says
src=" ".
<img src="http://www.DOMAIN.com/mypicture.gif"/>
(Remember if you are not comfortable with the img src tag and html, you can always put the link for your picture in your text)
Then when you go to post you will then preview what your message will look like. If your picture does not show re-check your picture address link and your img tag.
5) Other Issues.
Remember when you place your link to your picture you will want to keep your picture on your server in the same
location. When you move that location your picture will no longer be viewable on your post.
6) Legal Issues.
Be sure that any pictures you promote, you have the permission to use. In most cases many sites will allow you
to use their pictures. However, it is recommended that you read all copyright statements when publishing a pict
ure that is not yours.
Q. How can I make my board private?
A. Making your board private is an easy task. When you build your board you will have the option of making your
board public or private.
If you have built your board and you wish to convert it to a private board follow the steps below:
1) Go to LiveBoards.com
2) Click on Administrate your Board (top right)
3) Type in your administrators username and password
4) In the center of your screen choose Configure Your Boards
5) Click on the Board you wish to modify
6) Choose Modify the Board Privacy Options
7) You will now make your choice Public or Private
8) Click on Continue to register your selection
Q. How do I allow/disallow users for my private board?
A. Changing user rights is an easy task. When you build your board you will have the option of making your boar
d public or private. There you can add the users you like. If you do not have your usernames yet you can later
add them following the instructions below
Adding or Removing Users from your Board
1) Go to LiveBoards.com
2) Click on Administrate your Board (top right)
3) Type in your administrators username and password
4) In the center of your screen choose Configure Your Boards
5) Click on the Board you wish to modify
6) Choose Modify the Board Privacy Options
7) In the area under the Private selection you can place or remove the usernames as you wish
(remember the names will be checked to see if they are members. If they are not a registered member, they will
need to become a member before you can allow them.)
8) Click on Continue to register your selection
